few days ago a friend of mine posted on her Facebook a very interesting video in which detailed how the group Tool Lateralus had composed the song based on a mathematical sequence subsequently also used Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code , the Fibonacci sequence .
Here's the whole video:
Here's the whole video:
As we explain in the video, the Fibonacci sequence is essentially generating a third number from the sum of the first two . The sequence begins with 1, then 1 +1 = 2, 1 +2 = 3, 2 +3 = 5, 3 +5 = 8, 8 +5 = 13, and so on to infinity. This is the sequence that follows the lines, forward and backward in the song.
The video is about a spiral. The graphical representation of the sequence of Fibonacci spiral is:
The video is about a spiral. The graphical representation of the sequence of Fibonacci spiral is:
This graphical representation coincides with the shell of a nautilus:
From the number 3, the reason or ratio between two consecutive numbers is ALWAYS 1.618, a figure known as the Golden Number or Divine Proportion. Why? Because it is exactly the same GIVES you can find plenty of natural spirals of the universe as pipes a sunflower, or certain frames in some galaxies
But back to the song and the album Lateralus Tool namesake of the song sequence only goes up to 13 syllables and then reversed. 13 is the number of tracks on the disc, which have, as discovered by the fans, listening order different from the CD. The order suggested is this:
6,7,5,8,4,9,13,1,12,2,11,3,10
If you look good and forget for a moment the number 13 located right in the middle of the sequence, we see that the songs are arranged so that they form groups of 2 numbers that when combined result in 13: 6 +7 = 13 5 +8 = 13, 4 +9 = 13 and so on. It is said that this new order, the order makes sense: the songs come together in different ways: either continuing the song, or using the same tempo, or even forming a new song if they overlap. As people say many things and the music world is full of urban legends, I started researching a little matter of the songs and see if it is true that the album makes sense with this new order.
6 ("Parabol") + 7 ("Parabola"): The songs are straight and the first is the introduction of the second, so it does not count:
5 (" Schism") + 8 (" Ticks & Leeches ): Tested. The end of the first has the same tempo as the introduction of the second battery. If they overlap to create a new rhythmic feel for "Schism".
4 ("Mantra ") + 9 ("Lateralus ): Tested. The first is a sound of a wind instrument unidentified (possibly distorted) of just over a minute. The introduction of Lateralus guitar, overlaid with Mantra, creates a mystical atmosphere curious.
3 ("The Patient ") + 10 ("Disposition ): The first ends with a bass line and the second starts with another, but the tempo is entirely different. I have not found more matches that of the instrument, "a wise man who has been more perceptive than me?. Well, that's something.
2 ("Eon Blue Apocalypse ") + 11 (Reflection ): Tested. As in the case of "Mantra" and "Lateralus", if it overlaps the sound of the first with the introduction of the first is a new tune. In addition, both have the same style arabesque.
1 ("The Grudge ) and 12 (" Triad ): The first ends with a raucous pace very, very similar to the rate at which begins the second.
What about the song number 13, titled with the mysterious name of "Faaip of Oiad. "Well according to this blog , the title is Enochian is the language spoken by angels. Or so said the mystic John Dee . But that is not the thing. The song contains a recording that was allegedly a former employee of Area 51 to a radio program reveals that the Government and the U.S. military have contacted aliens, and outlines some plans for world conquest. Here is the transcript:
6,7,5,8,4,9,13,1,12,2,11,3,10

"I Do not have a whole lot of time. OK, I'm a Former employee of Area 51. I Was let go on a medical discharge about a week ago and, and ... I've Been kind of running across the country. Damn, I don't know where to start, they're gonna, um, they'll triangulate on this position really soon.
OK, what we're thinking of as, as aliens, they're extradimensional beings, that, an earlier precursor of the space program made contact with. They are not what they claim to be. They've infiltrated a lot of aspects of the military establishment, particularly the Area 51.
The disasters that are coming, they, the military, I'm sorry, the government knows about them, and there's a lot of safe areas in this world that they could begin moving the population to now. They are not! They want those major population centers wiped out so that the few that are left will be more easily controllable."
How did you
is the body? No wonder Tool components have a reputation for occult enthusiasts. Quite the cultism, I answer in another of his records, 10,000 days, a song called Jambi, used, rare and a compass (like almost all his songs), the metric foot iambic , one of the Greco-Roman pillars of the classical metric.
Take that. Hats off. Eat this, Dani Martin, this is composed, not wanting to get into your den with sneakers, so shit.
